The young Kangas started out in the first quarter dominating in defence and showing the crowd how much they wanted the flag.
Quick passages down the court, resulted in fast goals by Arlee Barry and Chloe Brady.
Second quarter was goal for goal and Leticia O’Shannessy was pulling off some impressive intercepts and showing her overall defensive skills.
During the third quarter, South Mildura began getting a strong lead over the Kangas due to changes made in their positions. Quick changes by Ouyen United helped minimise this margin though.
The last break in the game resulted in some fast thinking by Coach Kylie, and she strategically changed positions all over the court in order to start fresh in the last quarter, then she asked all the girls to dig deep and give this last quarter everything they had.
Boy, did they deliver! Seven goals down going in to the last quarter and the Kangas sheer determination to win was apparent. Lexi Munro and Ally O’Shannessy impressively worked the goal ring to their advantage.
Every player dug deep, stepped up to the challenge and BOOM, the flag was theirs.
What an incredible ending to a spectacular season from this impressive team.
Stellar coaching Kylie, it was a brave move to completely change a team around in the last quarter and everyone is so happy it paid off. They deserve every happiness resulting in that amazing performance.
Well done little legends. The club is so proud of your success.
